The theme of the exhibition is "To be continued". Translation of My Sequence Caption

At Roslagsbanan, train drivers and train hosts have long worked in symbiosis. Train drivers have described it as a kind of rhythm with which they together conduct the trains. But the duties of train hosts have over time become increasingly narrowed. In addition, new trains bring technologies considered sufficient to eliminate the need for train hosts in general. Many at the railway express concerns about this 'development'. The future of train hosts is becoming increasingly uncertain, and with this, the working environment of train drivers as well. Working conditions and everyday lives are consequently in a process of change, with those concerned wondering what their future may look like. The catch-words of technological development are 'efficiency' and 'success', but what happens with the human being whose body is replaced by that technology?

2019. Åsa, a conductor/train host, walks to her train after a break in Kårsta, Vallentuna. The train is soon to depart heading back to Stockholm.

2019. Rolando, a train driver, eyes one of the rear mirrors from the driver's cabin, anticipating a train host's signal for the doors to close. Over three decades ago, when he first started at the railway, Rolando worked as a conductor for a few years, as most did at that point in time before becoming train drivers at Roslagsbanan. Today he has worked as a train driver for over 30 years.

2019. Rolando responds to the signal of the train host and closes the doors, preparing the train for departure.
